At age 16 Lucas progressed from the South Australian Institute of Sport to the Australian Institute of Sport, having previously played with junior clubs Omonia and West Adelaide.
Throughout 1999, Lucas was an established Australian under 17 representative, having played several times for the Joeys. During this year, Lucas was fortunate to make an appearance in the 1999 World Youth Championship final against Brazil, where the Joeys only went down in a penalty shoot-out.
Whilst playing for Adelaide City between 2000- 2003, Pantelis took part in the 2001 under 20 World Youth Cup in Argentina, and played at the under 23 level the following year.
In 2003, Lucas played with the Parramatta Power where he spent one season, and then moved to Adelaide United the following season.
2005 was a highlight year for Lucas when he was awarded the HAL Premiership medal
Currently Lucas plays as a left midfielder and shows lots of promise with the Adelaide United Football Club.
