Daniel Vasilevski started his career at the Australian Institute of Sport & represented Australia at Under 20 and Under 23 level. As a former Qantas Young Socceroo, Daniel was recruited from the Carlton Soccer club before moving on to the Melbourne Knights in the former National Soccer League.
When the A-League kicked off, Daniel was signed by then Perth Glory coach and Liverpool F.C. legend Steve McMahon as part of the West Australian club's first playing list. After a season with Perth Glory, Daniel moved back to Melbourne and played in the Victorian Premier League with Altona Magic during the 2006/2007 season before signing with the Melbourne Victory. Vasilevski became a regular in Victory’s starting 11 towards the end of the Hyundai A-League 2007/08 season following a string of consistent performances that saw the right sided midfielder adopt a more defensive role.
