2008 NAB AFL Rookie Draft Pick No. 19
2009 AFL Debut
Winner of All-Australian Honours, Matt is a super competitor and big possession-getter. A medium midfielder who runs hard for his team and has incredibly strong hands overhead, Matt seems to find the ball in his hands more than most.
Originally from Western Australia and Claremont Football Club, Matt was the second ranked player overall for disposals at the Under 18 Championships and averaged 20 possessions and 4 inside 50s per match. His results at the 2008 Draft Camp demonstrate that he possesses excellent athletic attributes and will be a very valuable player for the Dockers.
At the beginning of the 2009 season, Matt was elevated to Fremantle’s senior playing list and made his debut during round 6. Matt completed his debutant year playing a total of 17 games.
