Congratulations to Essendon young gun Kyle Reimers who was nominated for the NAB AFL Rising Star Award for Round 16.

Kyle was recruited by the Bombers in the 2006 draft at pick number 47 from Peel Thunder.
He played his junior footy in Bunbury and also represented Western Australia at the 2006 NAB AFL U18 Championships.

Kyle’s form this year has been outstanding and he has been extremely close to being nominated for a number of weeks. His 18 possessions in a tight game against Richmond at the MCG was enough to receive the well-earned nomination.

Other impressive performances in his 13 games so far this season include:

• 18 possessions, 6 marks, 1 goal – Rd 4 vs Western Bulldogs
• 16 possessions, 9 marks – Rd 8 vs Sydney
• 18 possessions, 6 marks, 4 tackles – Rd 10 vs Adelaide
• 21 possessions, 5 marks, 1 goal – Rd 12 vs West Coast
