Originally from Subiaco, David is a tall key position player who has great speed. Gourdis performed well in the 2007 National Draft camp, ranking first in both the 20m sprint and the running vertical jump. David’s key attributes of height and speed were the catalyst to his selection at No.1 by Richmond in the 2008 NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft.

David was given another chance on the Tigers’ rookie list after being delisted at the end of the 2008 season. The WA youngster is quick and athletic and will continue to improve at VFL level.

After a few solid seasons, Gourdis will no doubt will add further depth to the Tigers back line as they continue to rebuild into a formidable force in the future.
