Recruited from the Gippsland Power, Rob is a midfielder who finds plenty of the ball. A graduate of the AIS/AFL Academy in 2004/2005, Rob represented Vic Country in the 2006 NAB AFL U18 Championships, where he was named in the All-Australian side.
Eddy had a consistent season in 2007, playing for St Kilda VFL affiliate Casey. His performances was enough for the Saints to promote him from the rookie list early in 2008 and he was again rewarded when he made his debut in Round 13 against Fremantle.
Following his AFL debut, Eddy was part of the Saints’ revival in the second half of 2008, playing the last 13 games.
Eddy played 8 of the 22 matches of the 2009 AFL season, where the Saints qualified in first position for the 2009 AFL Finals Series. Throughout his short career, Rob has played in 5 AFL Finals Series matches.
The midfielder/forward has a big engine, is hard at the ball and creates goals with his forward pressure and will hopefully push his way into a more regular position in the Saints senior side.
