Aaron is an exhilirating forward/midfielder from Palmerston, Northern Territory, with exceptional pace and a knack for kicking goals. Davey was elevated from Melbourne’s rookie list in 2004 and made an immediate impact at AFL level and was rewarded by winning Melbourne’s Best First Year Player Award. Davey continued his rapid development during the 2005 season playing all 23 games and finishing third in the Demons' Best & Fairest Award. In 2006 Aaron continued to impress the Melbourne faithful and statistically his numbers were up on his previous two years, having more disposals and kicking more goals. He later went on to represent Australia in the International Rules series in 2005 and 2006. His pace, defensive skills and goal-sense, along with willingness to work hard has seen Aaron become a dangerous player for the opposition.

Aaron was again consistent in 2007, averaging 14 possessions a game and kicked 24 goals and was rewarded with a fifth place in the Best & Fairest Award.

Davey had a frustrating run with injuries in 2008, having missed two games with a hamstring injury in the middle of the season and then a heel injury ruled him out after round 18. Determined as ever to turn things around for the following season, Davey produced his finest AFL season in 2009, which included career-best disposals (504) and tackles (90). The 2009 season, also saw Davey play his 100th game and more importantly, win his first Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Memorial Trophy, polling 82 votes.

Aaron’s engaging and generous personality has seen him become an ambassador for the Fred Hollows foundation, which helps with health care for outback indigenous people.

Aaron has an extremely bright future ahead of him and is no doubt one of the most popular players loved by the Melbourne faithful. Having signed a four-year contract at the end of the 2009 season, Davey will be wearing the red and blue until at least the end of 2013.
